A Claybrook Court homeowner discovered his detached garage attic burning  Friday about 10:40 a.m. and called Bargersville Community Fire Department.

Wandering Alzheimer client found quickly

Johnson County Project Lifesaver’s first rescue was a familiar client.
Fred Thompson, 82, was Bargersville Community Fire Department’s first client. He suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and has a tendency to wander away from home without warning.


Woods fire cause unknown

A woods fire of unknown origin burned for hours before being discovered in the 600 block of County Road S. 700 West.
Bargersville Community Fire Department was called to the area at 5:18 p.m. A neighbor saw flames in the woods and smoke drifting throughout the rural area.

Four area fire departments joined Bargersville Community Fire Department for three days of training this week in a donated home in the 4300 block of W. Whiteland Road.

Thursday, the home was totally burned as a dozen firefighters watched.

Whiteland Road and Ind. 144: Another crash

One man was seriously injured after two pickup trucks collided at Whiteland Road and Ind. 144.

The crash occurred about 1:10 p.m. on Friday

The intersection, one of the county's most dangerous, was closed to traffic about 30 minutes.

The cause of the crash was not immediately determine. However, Ind. 144 has the right-of-way.
