Welcome to the Bargersville Community Fire Department District.
Our Indiana district in Johnson County serves 64 square-miles and approximately 25,000 residents and ten’s of thousands of weekly commuters and visitors.
BCFD provides fire protection and emergency medical services to Center Grove High School ¬- the largest high school in Johnson County – Maple Grove and Union elementary schools.
The fire department’s 78 firefighters and paramedics answer calls from two fire stations strategically located to provide the fastest responses possible.
Throughout the decades, BCFD has upgraded its equipment as demands for service increase. During 2007, the number of jobs increased 24 percent over 2006.
In its beginning in 1941, as the Bargersville Men’s Club, the volunteer group’s goal was saving lives and protecting property, a tradition that continues today.
In 1955, the club became the Bargersville Community Volunteer Fire Department. The fire protection district was established in 1992 and has continued to grow and purchase equipment, while expanding its core membership through the volunteer corporation.
Today, the fire department has 16 vehicles dedicated to delivering around-the-clock paramedic emergency or fire fighting services under the leadership of a chief, assistant chief, three battalion chiefs, three captains, three lieutenants and a host of men and women firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
